Connection

The lower class by Prince Wang can be easily related to the topic which I choose to research. In his first photo, "The Gleaners", it shows the hardships of poverty, and how many people that were poor had to work long, tireless hours out in the hot scorching sun to pay for their next meal. His third photo also relates to my theme, because "The Stone Breaker" represent poverty. It shows that life as a labor worker was not great and you were the working class, or the lower class. Being in the lowest class of society at this time meant you were looked down upon, as dirty and poor. Unfortunately, poverty has plagued nations for centuries and in Prince Wang's blog it clearly shows that even in great times poverty still exists.

Summary

Poverty has overwhelmed our country as well as countless countires before us. It has proved to be a problem and needs to be fixed. These paintings portray differnetn ideas regarding poverty. Pablo Picasso resembled the struggles in Spain in the early 1900s, but it coincides with the modern world today. Holding a Bowl of Dust, by Ashley Cecil illustartes the scarcity of food in Africa, and how many people rarely get a bowl of food. Need, by Kathe Kollwitz depicts the life of a poor family, unable to get the help they need for their baby, becasue of their finacial status.
